Folk & Fable Wines

So we’ve borrowed a centuries old tradition from distilleries and crafted a unique tasting experience for wine drinkers. Smooth, smoky, and jammy, Folk & Fable will challenge your expectations of what a wine can be. Like all legends, this one has been years in the making.
Bourbon barrel aged to perfection
What makes Folk & Fable so special? The wine itself starts out exceptional, then undergoes a process that takes the flavor profile to the next level. All Folk & Fable wines are aged for three months in Bourbon barrels, giving each wine a warm, toasty finish.
You might be asking yourself, “what’s the deal with oak aging?” According to our good friend science, oak aging actually does enhance the flavor of wine.
Barrel aging adds aromatic flavor compounds to the wine, in this case manifesting itself in flavors of vanilla, spice, and smoke.
When we say Folk & Fable wines are smooth sippers, we mean it. Aging wine in a barrel also allows for the slow ingress of oxygen that makes wine smoother and less astringent.
It also helps that Bourbon barrels specifically are made from 100% new American oak and often charred, giving the wine a smoky flavor reminiscent of whatever was aging in the barrel previously.

I’ve tried the Cab and I’ve got the red blend on my rack. I’d love to try the Zinfandel to make the hat trick!

Hmmm, while I thought the Folk & Fable Red Blend was delicious on the nose, unfortunately I wasn’t in love with the taste. After reading they also have a Cab and a Zin, I’m curious to try F&F again. I typically prefer drinking those two varietals over a blend, anyway :)
I’ve tried the red blend and the Cabernet, really liked the Cabernet. Haven’t tried the Zin. The red blend was a nice ‘sipping and chatting with a friend’ wine.
