6 Tips for Celebrating National Wine Day

National wine day

It’s almost our favorite day of the year! May 25th is National Wine Day (not to be confused with February 18th – National Drink Wine Day. Apparently we weren’t the only ones who thought wine deserved multiple holidays). Follow our tips for properly celebrating, and make it your best day yet:

  1. Get your hands on some good vino.

This is the perfect day to indulge in your go-to bottle, or try something totally new! If you’re looking to make every day National Wine Day – see below. We got you a little something off your first Bright Cellars personalized wine experience.

  1. Select your stemware.

Wine isn’t just for the aristocrats anymore. Whether you’re sipping out of crystal flutes or prefer the red solo cup approach, we salute you. Grab your fave glass, fill it to the brim, and raise it for a toast! Just remember to care for your precious wine glasses.

  1. Mix it up.

White wine spritzers, kalimotxos, mid-morning mimosas…yes please. Here’s a list of our 9 favorite wine cocktails that are perfect for the upcoming summer.

  1. Host an at-home wine tasting.

Nothing beats getting your friends together for some bonding over beverages. See our Basic Wine Etiquette post for tips on proper serving skills, or our Blind Tasting Like a Pro post for simple instructions and printable tasting sheets! We’ve also put together a full guide on how to host a virtual wine tasting.

  1. Get crafty.

Its time to put those DIY cork craft Pins to good use, people! Garden markers, refrigerator magnets, kitchen back splashes…go wild.

  1. Bust out your dancing shoes.

It just so happens that May 25th is also National Tap Dance Day. Coincidence? We think not. See tip #1 and embrace our mantra for the night:
“Trust me, you can dance.” – Wine
