Folk & Fable Red Blend

The latest version of our bourbon barrel aged red blend, this new vintage shows caramelized, toasty notes with hints of baking spices like vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. These warm flavors are a product of being partially aged in Bourbon barrels for three months.

If you’re not familiar with the term ‘vintage,’ here’s a little crash course. The vintage is the year the grapes were harvested. A non-vintage label is the blend of many harvests. You may wonder, “can red blends have a vintage?” The answer is yes, if all the grapes used were harvested the same year.

Oak Aged Red Blend

Is oaked wine worth it? Absolutely. And there’s science to back it up.

First off, barrel aging adds flavor compounds to the wine. Secondly, barrel aging enhances the wine’s flavor by slow ingress of oxygen. Lastly, an oak barrel facilitates specific metabolic reactions that make the wine taste more creamy.

Pairings

This Red Blend pairs best with grilled steaks, burgers, or hard, aged cheeses like cheddar.
