You can’t predict the future, but you can predict what kind of wine you’ll enjoy. These 9 wines for juice lovers make the perfect brunch alternatives. How do you do this? You don’t need a crystal ball. You simply need to ask yourself what kind of fruit juice you most enjoy drinking. Your taste buds, it turns out, are pretty consistent. So even though juice doesn’t really taste like wine, odds are that you like the same qualities in both of these beverages. Don’t believe it? You’ll have to try for yourself. Scroll down to find out how your favorite juice can point you toward the wine you should try next.

wine for juice lovers - orange juice

1. Orange Juice

If you like to start the day with a tall glass of OJ, try a slightly-sweet aromatic white wine like Gewürztraminer or Viognier. Like orange juice, these wines are medium-bodied. Plus, they have notes of tangerine.

Bright Cellars WellFleet Viognier

Bright Cellars' Wellfleet Vigonier

The Wellfleet Viognier is a great way to switch it up! This light-bodied white wine has flavor notes of lemon, cantaloupe, orange blossom, and rose.

2. Apple Juice

Apple juice lovers should try a light-bodied unoaked Chardonnay with notes of green apple or Chenin Blanc, a medium-bodied white wine with notes of yellow apple and honey. You may also like Riesling, which you can find in a dry or slightly sweet style, with notes of apple and citrus.

3. Grapefruit Juice

If you’re all about tart, citrusy grapefruit juice, be sure to try a light-bodied white wine that has a kick of acidity. Try Albariño or Sauvignon blanc, white wines with light fruit notes of grapefruit and lemon zest. You may also enjoy Grüner Veltliner, a light white wine with notes of gooseberry.

wine for juice lovers - pineapple juice

4. Pineapple Juice

If you like tropical fruit juices like pineapple or mango, try a white wine like oaked Chardonnay or Sémillon. These medium-bodied white wines have ripe fruit notes of pineapple, guava, and mango.

Meet Cute Chardonnay

The Meet Cute Chardonnay is an oaked Chard that makes the perfect alternative to pineapple juice. The flavor notes of mango, lemon curd, coconut, and pineapple all come together in this buttery wine.

5. White Grape Juice

Even though wine is made from grapes, most wines don’t taste like a handful of fresh grapes. Some wines, however, are known to have “juicy” fruit flavors, and these wines will appeal to fans of grape juice. If your preference is white grape juice, try an off-dry Riesling with ripe fruit notes of honey-crisp apple and pear.

cranberry juice

6. Cranberry Juice

Fans of pure, unsweetened cranberry juice should try a dry rosé. If you like your cranberry juice a little sweeter, go for an off-dry rosé at first. You may also like a light-bodied red wine like Beaujolais with notes of pomegranate and brambleberry.

7. Tomato Juice

If you love nothing more than popping open a can of V8 juice, try an Old-World red wine. “Old-World” refers to wines made in European countries like France, Italy, or Spain. These wines tend to have earthy notes and a decent amount of acidity. Be sure to check out Sangiovese, an Italian red wine with notes of roasted tomato and espresso, and Tempranillo, a Spanish red wine with notes of figs and dried herbs.
Bright Cellars' Acquaforte Sangiovese
Bright Cellars' Acquaforte Sangiovese
The Acquaforte Sangiovese is an Sicilian red wine flavor notes of earth, dried herbs, cherry, and strawberry. Sangioveses are known for their tomato-like flavors making them the perfect alternative to tomato juice.

Pomegranate

8. Pomegranate Juice

Like some red wines, pomegranate skin contains tannins, making pomegranate juice slightly bitter. If pomegranate juice is your go-to, try a light-bodied red wine like Pinot Noir or Beaujolais with notes of cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate.

9. Plum Juice

If you love the richness of plum juice, try a medium- to full-bodied red wine. Merlot, Shiraz, and Malbec should definitely be on your list. These bold red wines have dark fruit notes like plum, blueberry, and black cherry.

 bright cellars bushtelly shiraz

Bright Cellars Bushtelly Shiraz

The Bushtelly Shiraz is the perfect way to quench your thirst! The smokey Australian wine has flavor notes of raspberry, plum, and blackberry.
